Abstract

A novel iterative two-parameter algorithm for the design of diffractive optical elements (DOE) is discussed. The algorithm is obtained as a result of minimization of a criterion-functional which has the residual term defined on a specified range of frequency plane, and a stabilizing term. The algorithm is shown to be the generalization of a number of familiar algorithms for designing DOEs. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
