The principal contributions of this work are summarized as follows: • Proposal of a new design formulation for built-up CFS members that is not adequately addressed by existing design standards. • Comprehensive evaluation of current design equations, identifying their unreliability in predicting flexural strength. • Development of improved design equations for the flexural strength of the CFS member considering screw spacings. • Validation of the developed finite element model through comparison with experimental results reported in the existing literature. • Demonstrates CIS-DSM applicability across screw spacings and plate thicknesses for practical CFS design.
