• Eimeria tenella challenge significantly impaired growth performance, gut morphology, and cecal health. • Relative to the infected untreated control (IUC), dietary supplementation with the cinnamon–Rumex nervosus mixture reduced oocyst shedding by up to 75.8%. • Phytogenic treatments achieved “marked” anticoccidial activity (ACI: 162-168). • High-dose phytogenic most effectively improved cecal morphology and reduced wall thickness. • Low-dose phytogenic yielded the best growth performance among phytogenic groups.
