• Numerical simulation streamlines EMI shielding design, minimizing prototyping and material waste (deviation of 6–31 %). • Silver mesh textiles deliver >30 dB SE, meeting “excellent” standards for general-performance wearable shielding. • Screen printing offers scalable, cost-effective, washable and reproducible fabrication of EMI shielding textiles.
