How can we make sense of the current state of global governance of AI? And how can we best govern AI? In Architectures of global AI governance, Matthijs Maas engages in the daunting task of making sense of suitable governance approaches to address the technological challenge of the twenty-first century. The book explores various design strategies and institutions capable of success in governing AI effectively—as well as what effective governance may entail. Maas draws on a wealth of sources to offer answers. The book's main contribution lies in its conceptual richness, synthesizing disparate strands of literature into a comprehensive account of global AI governance.
