Armadillo nail (also known as ram's horn or shrimp nail) is a presentation of onychogryphosis and typically seen following repeated trauma. It is often misdiagnosed in primary care and incorrectly treated with antifungals, despite negative mycology. In young patients with onychogryphosis, it is important to consider systemic diseases and genetic factors, and to address associated inflammatory skin conditions.
