• The UCSF ChimeraX plugin called ArtiaX addresses the specific demands of visualization in cryo-electron tomography, and has now been extended to include tools for generating geometric models such as lines, spheres and surfaces that facilitate particle positioning and orientation. • ArtiaX can now define specific camera recording paths by defining sets of points or models, thereby simplifying the process of movie creation. A specifically tailored, coarse-grained algorithm has been developed to detect and move overlapping surfaces for improved visualization. • Band-pass filters, contrast inversion, creation of projection slices and a GUI for tomogram arithmetic for on-the-fly analysis of tomographic data have been introduced in this release of ArtiaX. • Compatibility of ArtiaX for particle lists generated with external software has now also been extended to the cryo-ET data portal (.ndjson), Copick (.json), and RELION-5 (.star).
