This research assesses the offshore wind resource in the Administrative Marine Zone of Tamaulipas using an integrated methodology based on Geographic Information Systems. Following various published methodologies and relevant literature, a set of exclusion criteria is defined, grouped into three categories: techno-economic, social, and environmental. Additionally, the energy performance of different wind turbines is compared under the site's specific conditions to identify the most suitable model for the marine zone. The results of the study indicate that 1.33% of the area is available for wind turbine installation, distributed across two optimal zones for offshore wind farm development. Together, these areas could support an installed capacity of approximately 12,068.1 MW of electric power.
