• A 10-year cohort used IPTW and shared Gamma frailty models • Metformin is associated with a 44% reduction in recurrent unplanned readmission risk • Insulin also shows a significant association with lower unplanned readmission risk • Metformin’s inverse association is pronounced in patients receiving glucocorticoids
