Inspired by a patient with an aggressive nasal cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma that completely regressed in 4 weeks while consuming large amounts of berries, we hypothesized that blueberry extract (BE) might be an effective treatment for established oral cancers and could inhibit progression of premalignant lesions through immune mechanisms.
