● PtRuFe@NC catalyst with a unique multi-site architecture was designed. ● This structure balance OH* adsorption/desorption and accelerate hydrogen spillover. ● It delivers exceptional alkaline HER activity (20 mV at 10 mA cm−2) and stable AEM electrolyzer operation over 300 h at 500 mA cm−2.
