• Pleurozium schreberi was used to identify levels of potentially toxic elements in three industrial cities of Perm region – Solikamsk, Berezniki, and Gubakha. • Results are reflecting distinct local industrial profiles. • All three cities were classified in pollution levels ranging from unpolluted to moderately polluted.
