Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• Photosynthesis in apple branches varied greatly with age and water availability. • Rubisco concentration, vessel diameter, and cortical thickness were important variables in promoting branch photosynthesis. • Photosynthetic capacity of branches increases under severe water stress compared to full irrigation. • A moderate water shortage improved the coordination of the apple branch-leaf system.
