• BRCA1 loss in FTE-194 cells increased IRF3 activation and type-I interferon signaling. • BRCA1 loss had little effect on NFκB activation and downstream target genes. • Increased interferon signaling required TBK1, IFNAR and NFκB activation. • BRCA1 loss increased levels of MDA5 and RIG-I but not STING.
