Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• Renewable energy development significantly reduces urban–rural income inequality in China. • A one-standard-deviation increase in renewable energy lowers income inequality by approximately 11%. • The effect is stronger in regions with richer solar resources, lower fossil energy dependence, and lower urbanization. • Renewable energy promotes rural income equality by boosting employment and improving access to education. • Green finance plays a key amplifying role in supporting equitable outcomes of renewable energy initiatives.
