Abstract
En 中文
• Optical emission is estimated for solubility-resolved brown carbon from coal burning. • Estimates are based on distinct urban-rural residential coal consumption patterns. • Insoluble brown carbon dominates light absorption despite its small mass share. • Brown and black carbon show comparable contributions to absorption at 365 nm. • Brown carbon optical emissions declined in China driven by clean energy transition.
