Toxoplasmosis, caused by the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii, is a public health problem, especially in congenital infections. Current treatments, with spiramycin or pyrimethamine and sulfadiazine, are highly toxic, prompting the search for effective and safe natural alternatives.
