Abstract
En 中文
• Lower mass gain in C-containing medium-Mn steel compared to C-free model alloy. • Mass gain difference persists for quenched model alloy with fine microstructure. • Three-layered Fe-rich oxide forms; layers are corundum- and spinel-type oxide. • Severe pore formation in C-containing steel, causing loss of contact. • Diffusion pathways through the oxide are restricted, decreasing oxidation kinetics.
