Abstract
En 中文
• We analyze consumers’ preferences for fresh and smoked catfish in the Gambia Republic. • The study applies Best-Worst Scaling and bivariate probit regression. • We show that fish consumers prioritize health-related attributes and quality over long-term sustainability factors such as animal welfare and production methods. • Bivariate probit regression results show that consumer preference for fresh and smoked catfish is influenced by consumer’s income, attention to shelf-life, taste, health benefits, and access to landing-site markets.
