Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• There is a very small effect of environmental identity manipulation on environmental identity. • The already very small effects of environmental identity manipulation on pro-environmental behavior, intention, and attitude are likely inflated by publication bias. • Our results are consistent with the notion of a causal role for environmental identity in pro-environmental behavior. • Given the small effects of identity manipulation and the presence of publication bias, the causal role of environmental identity should still warrant some caution.
