• Kazemabad, Abardej and Qaleh-Boland deposits hosted by carbonate and marl in the Qom Formation. • Diagenetic crystallization rhythmites (DCRs) are common textures in the celestine deposits of the Abardej anticline. • The geological, geometrical and geochemical features offered in this research strongly propose a sedimentary-diagenetic origin for Abardej anticline celestine deposits.
