Abstract

• A novel encryption system grounded in chaos theory is introduced. This is designed to enhance the security of both IoT devices and networks. The motivation behind this development is the increasing worry about the susceptibility of IoT systems to cyber threats. • To harness the benefits of chaos theory as an alternative to traditional cryptography, two 1-D chaotic maps are used in a hybrid approach. These maps generate a pseudo-random sequence, leveraging the unpredictable nature of chaos to enhance security for IoT devices and networks. • To address complexity and resource demands, our proposed security system is computationally simple, making it efficient and scalable for IoT devices. • Furthermore, to optimize the efficiency and security of this chaotic map, evolutionary algorithms are used. This evolutionary approach fine-tunes the parameters of the map, ensuring an enhanced level of security for textual data.
