Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
• A novel event-based Indian-Burma Trough (IBT) frequency index is proposed, quantifying the probability of synoptic IBT event from a climatological perspective. • IBT event frequency is significantly modulated by the tropical Indo-Pacific sea surface temperature (SST) tripole mode. • Dual synergistic pathways link the SST tripole pattern to IBT frequency: Walker circulation reorganization and meridional thermal wind-topography interactions.
