This special issue highlights flexible, stretchable and printable electronic materials for sustainable healthcare, sensing and actuation, energy applications and interconnections. Among many articles, Maximilian Krack, Lennert Purnal, Asad Ullah, Monika Rai, Wim Deferme and co-workers present advanced fabrication approaches of stretchable electronics with a liquid metal conductor and demonstrate their potential in nature-inspired strain sensors for fruit monitoring applications.
