Klebsiella pneumoniae is a ‘critical priority’ pathogen responsible for several infections. The emerging evidence of carbapenem resistance in the phylogroups of K. pneumoniae (KpI), namely K. quasipneumoniae (KpII) and K. variicola (KpIII), has drawn attention.
