Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
A dynamic price adaptation scheme for queue control is proposed wherein the objective is to modulate the price so as to keep the load in a queue close to a prescribed 'ideal' profile, given that the users behave in an individually optimal manner w.r.t. their respective utility functions. The scheme can be analyzed using the 'o.d.e.' approach to stochastic approximation algorithms. Simulations confirm the analytic predictions. (C) 2004 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
