• Organics (47%), eBC (15%), nitrates (15%), and sulfates (14%) are the main PM1 components • Photochemistry at the local and regional scales has gained relevance • Highly oxygenated organic (i.e., aged) aerosols dominate the organic fraction • Controls on traffic emissions and those from street food stalls must be reinforced • Control measures targeting secondary particles are urgently needed
