This study examines how memory becomes entangled with materials in children's constructive play. Using visual ethnography, elicitation interviews and Visual Network Analysis with a 15-year-old Mongolian child living in Finland, the findings reveal that memory is not a fixed recollection of the past but a relational, non-linear process enacted through material engagements. Constructive play emerges as a vital site where temporal entanglements unfold, enabling children to remember, reconfigure and narrate experiences across shifting social, spatial and cultural contexts. The study advances understanding of childhood memory, play and meaning-making from a sociomaterial perspective.
