Abstract

Abstract

En 中文
A novel encoding paradigm for chipless radio frequency identification (RFID) tags based on phase quantization is presented. The most distinctive features of this approach are represented by the low requirement on bandwidth and by the encoding scheme. The former is achieved by using only a multifrequency reading without resorting to ultrawideband systems, whereas the latter relies on linking the information to the quantized difference between the TE and TM phase response of the tag. The encoding mechanism is described as well as the decoding procedure. The reliability of the illustrated approach is experimentally validated by measurements on fabricated prototypes.
