Abstract

• This paper presents and assesses a multi-constrained optimization algorithm for IOD in cislunar space using angles-only short-arc observations. • By integrating measurement, dynamic, and inherent orbital constraints, this approach is designed to enhance the convergence success rate and accuracy of cislunar IOD. • The algorithm’s performance was validated by setting up multiple simulation scenarios under a high-fidelity ephemeris model. • Numerical simulations demonstrate that, compared to three other cislunar IOD algorithms, our algorithm exhibits stronger robustness under varying observation geometries, a higher convergence success rate, and improved accuracy.
