• Inertized rock wool is upcycled via low-T CO2-enriched hydrothermal synthesis. • CO2 drives specific mineral recovery beyond simple alkaline absorption. • CO2 yields high-value Na-P and phillipsite zeolites, replacing tobermorite. • Synthesis in CO2 drives ∼4-fold increase in zeolite content vs air. • A dual valorization pathway for process CO2 and inertized rock wool is proposed.
