• The capacitive void sensor achieves ± 3.0% gas void fraction error with 1.732% uncertainty; • A semi-empirical gas void fraction model and overreading correction model are established; • The Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm improves robustness and reduces initial-value sensitivity; • The proposed method predicts gas flow within ± 1.5% and liquid flow within ± 10% FSPE.
