Abstract
En 中文
• Development of complexity-related aspects of evolving ecosystems examined. • Richness & variability may increase, decrease, and/or shift modes during evolution. • Functional information may increase or decrease in specific Earth surface systems. • Lengthening, elaboration of historical sequences increases embedded complexity. • It is most appropriate to address evolutionary changes in complexity case-by-case.
