• Composition-tunable BFBCT-BSFO multiferroic composites were synthesized. • Dielectric-magnetic coupling enhanced microwave attenuation and EMI shielding. • RLmin of −35.86 dB was achieved at 12.25 GHz for x = 0.5 with tm = 4 mm. • Maximum attenuation constant of ∼390 dB/m was obtained for x = 0.3. • SET values approached 20 dB through balanced dielectric and magnetic losses.
