Abstract

• Conjugate heat transfer in Kelvin & Voronoi metal foams are simulated in pore-scale. • OpenFOAM parallel solver used to simulate 6 foam geometries with 0.75–0.95 porosities. • Voronoi foams exhibited significantly higher permeability than Kelvin foams. • Voronoi foams provided the best overall hydrothermal performance in terms of PEC. • Voronoi structures achieved 204–270% higher Nuk values respect to Kelvin foams.
