• Achieves ultra-precise 2D atom localization using Compton scattering. • Localization resolution reaches λ/30× λ/30 with 100% detection probability. • Standing wave fields create sharp, localized peaks in 2D space. • Interaction between light and atoms depends on spatial positioning. • Findings support advanced laser cooling and nanolithography applications.
