• Self-affirmation (SA) can facilitate constructive multi-stakeholder dialogue. • SA can reduce perceptions that the content of facts-based information is biased. • SA is particularly effective when discussion group members know each other. • Moral perspective-taking does not increase receptivity to different viewpoints.
