Abstract

• We design ZnO-ZnSe layer on the surface of Zn anode by a facile hydrothermal avenue. • The symmetric cells with ZnO-ZnSe@Zn anode work for 1800 h at 1 mA cm−2 (1 mA h cm−2). • The devices present 332.06mA h g−1 at 5.0 A g−1 after 1000 times cycling.
