Abstract

• In this work, the directionally aligned SiC nanofibers were successfully prepared through a microwave heating method. • The mechanism of directional alignment of SiC nanofibers under microwave heating was elucidated. • The as-prepared SiC nanofibers show excellent EMW absorption performances, including an RLmin of −44.3 dB with a thickness of 1.7 mm, an EAB of 3.92 GHz, and the effective RCS reduction value of 17.46 dB m2.
