• We study a challenging problem: One-step active learning on imbalanced graphs. • We propose Contra2, which reduces the imbalance ratio using edge contraction. • We theoretically demonstrate that our method improves the balance of the graph. • Experiments on real-world graphs demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach.
