In this paper, the finite/fixed-time cluster consensus problem is addressed for leader-following multi-agent systems subject to denial of service attacks. Novel distributed control protocols are designed to ensure consensus achievement despite the attacks. A foundational framework is further developed to analyze the associated control costs, yielding explicit upper bounds for the convergence time and energy cost. The relationship between the number of followers and these costs is elucidated through theoretical analysis and simulations. A key finding is the inherent trade-off between time and energy costs, indicating that reducing the convergence time for cluster consensus simultaneously increases the system’s energy consumption.
