• The PU/DA-EP/MXene hierarchical shell allows for force/heat/light on-demand core release in the multi-trigger microcapsules. • MXene boosts peel strength by 78 % & significantly improves flame retardancy. • MXene photothermal conversion allows precise, remote adhesive curing via IR light. • Superior fire safety: 15MX-MCs EP reduces total heat release by 25.7 % & toxic gas/smoke by ~30 %.
