Abstract

Abstract

• Deprotonated 2-aminoterephthalic acid coordinated compound-mediated method was developed to fabricate DAS catalyst. • FeNi-DSAs/NSs delivers exceptional ORR performance with a large half-wave potential of 0.92 V. • The cooperative effect between atomic Fe and Ni reduces the energy barrier of RDS. • Aqueous ZAB driven by FeNi-DSAs/NSs affords excellent durability for over 1600 h at 5 mA cm−2. • Quasi-solid-state ZAB with FeNi-DSAs/NSs exhibits a long operation lifespan of over 110 h at 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 mA cm−2.
