Synthetic Cells A flash of light transforms inactive, membrane-bound DNA tiles into synthetic filament networks on synthetic cell membranes. By precisely controlling when and where assembly begins, the system creates patterned coatings, rings, and cage-like architectures that recruit cargo, organize membrane surfaces, and stabilize vesicles, opening new possibilities for programmable structure and function in bottom-up synthetic biology.
