Inspired by the polarization vision of mantis shrimp, this work combines the intrinsic anisotropy of two-dimensional PdSe2 with ferroelectric polymer P(VDF-TrFE) to integrate optical sensing, memory, and information processing. At the center of the cover, a polarized light beam passes through optical elements and illuminates the crystal channel between gold electrodes. Oppositely directed arrows within the underlying ferroelectric layer, together with the hysteresis curve, symbolize reversible polarization switching and nonvolatile memory.
