Abstract

• A CPU-GPU heterogeneous architecture is proposed for algorithmic implementation. • A two-stage stochastic programming model is formulated for bus-based freight scheduling. • A GPU-accelerated adaptive large neighborhood search is embedded in the algorithm. • The CPU-GPU architecture reduces computation time from hours to minutes or even seconds. • Sensitivity analyses are conducted to provide insights for designing robust freight scheduling plans.
