• A thermosensitive membrane with dual optical warning and flame-retardant functions has been prepared, comprising carbon quantum dots synthesized from glycerol/arginine/copper nitrate trihydrate and carboxymethyl chitosan. • The membrane triggers a low-temperature alarm below 90–110 °C, exhibiting rapid combustion response and prolonged duration. Following multiple combustion alert tests, it consistently activates combustion warnings within 2 s, demonstrating stable and sensitive combustion alert functionality. • This membrane achieves dual functions of early warning and flame retardancy.
