• Size of haptically explored stimuli can be decoded in V1 in blindfolded individuals • Haptic size decoding in V1 cannot be merely due to Visual imagery • Frontal, parietal, and occipital areas show haptic as well as imagined size decoding • Parietal and premotor areas show an abstract representation of stimulus size • Size generalization occurs in highly specialized but not lower-level brain areas
