In neutral beam injection experiments, the connection between the accelerator and the insulators is critical for meeting ion source operation requirements. This paper describes the design of the new accelerator and carries out a mechanical analysis of the accelerator, which yields a maximum positive stress of 53.703 MPa and a shear force of 2.631 MPa in the bolts connecting the insulation of the ground electrode to the flange connection surface. After finite element analysis, the maximum normal stress of the bolt is 52.902 MPa, which is 1.49% different from the theoretical solution and less than the tensile strength of Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK); the maximum shear force is 2.551 MPa, which is 3.04% different from the theoretical solution and less than the shear strength of PEEK. After seismic analysis, the maximum stress of the accelerator structure is 1.924 MPa, which is less than the yield strength of stainless steel. After testing for assembly errors in the accelerator electrode, the mechanical properties of the 120 -keV positive ion source accelerator fully meets the design requirements.
