Abstract

• Both MTLE subtypes show altered occipital-to-temporal information transfer in VWM. • Distinct network alterations were noted between HS-MTLE and MRI-negative MTLE. • HS-MTLE and MRI-negative MTLE alter posterior and anterior networks, respectively. • Electrophysiological evidence from hypothesis-generating supports MTLE subtyping. • Hypothesis-generating findings will help develop targeted cognitive interventions.
